Eggs
Emus usually start laying eggs
in their second winter. A good female will lay an egg every
third day.
They lay eggs in the
wintertime from November to May.
The large eggs are dark green. The shells have 3 different
coloured layers. Patterns can be carved into the eggshell
revealing the different colours.
The eggs can also be used for eating and baking.
